A family favorite!
My little ones LOVE the stories in this book, and I love the quality of it!  The sturdy binding and thick pages are holding up to lots of love, and my kids especially love that it comes with its own book mark. :)  We read this one over and over again!

All the Stories I Grew Up With!
I bought this book because I saw it had The Little Red Hen in it and I love that story.  My kids love this book and want me to read the entire thing every time they bring it out! Some of these old classic stories are hard to find and I love having them all together in this excellent quality books.  We love the gorgeous illustrations too!

Great Illustrations!
I bought this book as a baby shower gift, and now I'm going to buy one for myself! The illustrations are amazing, and there are so many great stories in it. I'm glad I found it because the binding, paper, illustrations, and even the font make this book an incredible gift for any family.

Awesome read aloud
My boys (ages 10, 9 and 5) are enjoying their nightly read aloud from mommy with this collection of stories. Agree most are from when I was young and it is fun to laugh and share them with my own children. Highly recommend this collection!!

Kids Love this book
This book is WONDERFUL! My girls get excited at bedtime to  read this.  We read one story a night and they love to find the picture of the character as I am reading. My oldest is starting to read so does some of the reading for me.  Wonderful stories and great illustrations.

Oddly violent story
I have to say, I was fine with this book until I read The Musicians of Brenan to my 3.5-year old. In it, a dog explains how his master wanted to shoot in because he was too old, a cat explains that her mistress tried to drown her, and a rooster says he's being roasted for dinner tomorrow and so it's his "last night." I had to stop and move on to the next story because I didn't want to explain to my curious kid what shooting or drowning are, especially before bedtime. Really morbid and not written in terms that are appropriate for young chcildren. This story shouldn't have been included in what is otherwise a fairly sweet book of animal stories.

This book is so not annoying... most of the other books my daughter asks for a hundred million times a night. I actually enjoy reading these stories to her. I find it easy to kind of act them out and make them more interesting because of the way they're written. Also, these are stories I grew up with, and I hate to say it but I'm glad they don't all have a perfect ending tied up with a bow. The Big Bad Wolf falls in the pot and the pigs put the lid on, the Musicians of Bremen all have reasons for running away that aren't super pleasant (because that's how the story goes *cough Brothers Grimm cough*). The stories are exactly how I remember them from when I was a kid and my daughter LOVES them as much as I did when I was her age.

Fun retellings
Enjoyable retellings of Aesop, Kipling, Hans Christian Anderson, and more. We enjoy the stories and the illustrations. Musicians of Bremen is a particular favorite.

Great Binding!
We like these stories and also like that there are minimal pictures to help with imagination. But the binding takes the cake! So many of Usborne books' binding have come apart but this has stood the test of time and kids.

My New Favorite For Bedtime
With a 3 year old and 6 year old, it can be hard to find bedtime stories they both enjoy.  Most of the time we pick two books so they both get what they like.  But on nights when time is crunched or everyone is crabby and we need to wind down quickly, this book saves us.  Both girls enjoy the stories so much.  Each story is just the right length (long enough to develop the story, but short enough to keep the 3 year olds attention) and the pictures are perfect as well.
